Introducing Camille Cortes

Camille Cortes

Designer, Hart Howerton

Camille Cortes is a designer at Hart Howerton. She received a degree in Architecture with a minor in Ecosystem Science Policy from the University of Miami in 2018. As a native of Miami, Camille is conscious of the looming impact sea level has on her hometown and other communities worldwide. This realization led her to seek mitigation and adaptation solutions and strategies to address climate change. Camille founded PLACE Initiative in 2020 along with colleagues from the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) who share her focus on climate and agree that urban design and equity are integral to any short and long-term climate actions. To further advance these solutions, Camille has been actively involved with CNU and serves on CNU’s New York Chapter’s Board.
